London, KY (February 27, 2025): The City of London, Kentucky, is excited to announce the adoption of a new city seal, marking a significant step in the city’s ongoing efforts to refresh its visual identity and better reflect its unique character and heritage. The new seal, developed in collaboration with the Kentucky League of Cities, incorporates meaningful symbolism that captures the essence of London’s identity: Redbud Tree: A symbol of Kentucky’s natural heritage and renewal, representing the city’s commitment to growth and revitalization. Building Icon: Inspired by City Hall and McHargue’s Mill, signifying London’s rich history and its role as a place to call home. Hill Design: Representing the surrounding Appalachian foothills that define the area’s geography and natural beauty. The new seal replaces the previous seal, which will be retired for ceremonial use only upon request. The transition to the new seal will be completed by December 31, 2025, across all city departments and agencies. “We are thrilled to introduce this new symbol of our city,” said Mayor Randall Weddle. “The new seal beautifully captures London’s unique spirit and heritage, and we believe it will serve as a strong representation of our community for years to come.” The new seal is accompanied by comprehensive branding guidelines to ensure its consistent and professional use across all platforms. The City’s Public Relations Office will be coordinating with relevant departments to inform the public and stakeholders about the new seal and its meaning.

Garbage service notice to all residential and commercial garbage customers within the city limits of London. As of March 2024, all 95-gallon garbage cans must be put out the night “BEFORE” your scheduled pick-up day. If a request is made to return to your location due to the can being put out late (this being determined by the truck driver and truck camera system), there will be an extra garbage service fee that will be determined by the Public Works Office. If the can is missed due to driver error, there will be no charge. This will keep the city garbage service running more efficiently. Thank you.
