London Police Now Accepting Applications

The London Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applications will be accepted from non-certified civilians as well as Certified Police Officers (POPS – Peace Officer Professional Standards). Benefits include competitive pay, 12-hour shifts with every other weekend off, take-home fleet, health insurance, paid holidays, and paid overtime. Applicants must be 21 years of age, a U.S. Citizen, possess a high school diploma or GED, and valid driver’s license. London Fire Dept. Now Accepting Applications

The London Fire Department is NOW accepting applications for the position of firefighter. Applications are available at for download.

Applications and the criminal background check form must be completed online or dropped off at 911 Fire Rescue Dr., London, KY.

Applicants must possess a CPAT Certification, pass a background check, and pass a written test as well as an oral interview at the London Fire Department.

Road Work

CITY OF LONDON ROAD WORK PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT: Milling begins on Wednesday, Nov. 18th at 7am from Mill St. from West 5th St. to 11th St. and the KY-192 London Shopping Center access road from the Cardinal Country Store to Wallgreens. Paving begins on Friday, Nov. 20th and Saturday, Nov. 21st on Mill St. and London Shopping Center access road.

On the advice of the Laurel County Health Department, all City of London playgrounds and basketball courts are now closed until further notice. Walking trails will remain open at this time.
