Position: City/County Grant Writer

Location: City of London 

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: Mayor 

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

– Conduct comprehensive research to identify relevant grant opportunities from various government agencies, foundations, and private organizations.

– Collaborate with city/county departments to gather information, data, and statistics necessary for grant applications.

– Develop well-written, persuasive grant proposals that align with the city/county’s priorities and meet all application requirements.

– Manage the grant application process, including proposal development, budget creation, submission, and tracking.

– Maintain an up-to-date database of grant opportunities, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

– Stay informed about current trends, regulations, and best practices in grant writing and funding sources.

– Build and maintain relationships with funders, participating in meetings and networking events as needed.

– Collaborate with city/county staff to ensure grant compliance and facilitate reporting on awarded grants.

– Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of grant-funded programs, providing progress reports and recommendations.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Public Administration, Non-profit Management, or Communications.

– Proven experience in grant writing and securing funding from government agencies, foundations, or private organizations.

– Excellent research, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling grant proposals.

– Knowledge of grant application processes, guidelines, and reporting requirements.

– Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

– Detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

– Proficiency in using grant research and management tools.

– Familiarity with city/county operations and community development initiatives is preferred.
