MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LONDON, KENTUCKY,
HELD APRIL 4, 2016
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of London, Kentucky, was held April 4, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall in London, Kentucky. Mayor Troy Rudder presided, and the following duly qualified and acting members of the City Council were present:

Councilperson Bobby Joe Parman
Councilperson Danny Phelps
Councilperson Nancy Vaughn
Councilperson Judson Weaver
City Attorney Larry Bryson was present.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Troy Rudder.
A motion was made by Councilperson Nancy Vaughn and seconded by Councilperson Danny Phelps to approve the Minutes of March 7, March 11 and March 17, 2016 and to dispense with the readings of these minutes.
Then upon this motion came the following vote:

Councilperson Judson Weaver, yes
Chris Minton of Wildcat Harley-Davidson had submitted an Event Application for a 7K Run for June 25, 2016. No one was present regarding this event; therefore same was tabled until the next regular council meeting.
Zachary Stanifer was present on behalf of the American Cancer Society. Mr. Stanifer had presented an Event Application for a 5K Walk/Run for the American Cancer Society “5K for the Relay”. This Event is scheduled for June 25, 2016 at 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Mr. Stanifer stated he would like the South route.
A motion was made by Councilperson Kelly Greene and seconded by Councilperson Judson Weaver to approve the 5K for June 25, 2016 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Christen Gilkison, activity director at Laurel Village, presented an Event Application for a 5K as a fundraiser to purchase a touch screen unit for the residents at Laurel Village. The 5K is scheduled for September 17, 2016 at 8:00 a.m.
A motion was made by Councilperson Nancy Vaughn to approve the 5K upon approval of the facility obtaining event insurance and approving a route with the London Police Chief, Derek House. Said motion was seconded by Councilperson Bobby Joe Parman.
Then upon this motion came the following vote:

Chris Robinson, London Tourism Director informed the council members that he is still waiting for an official start date from Frankfort concerning the construction at the Aerial Adventure Park. Mr. Robinson stated, “They’re ready once that’s permitted, but it’ll be a few weeks. It will be sometime this summer, not as early as we had hoped but probably sometime in June”.
Molly Barnett, Director of London Downtown informed the council members that the Redbud Ride is set for April 21 through April 23; there are approximately 789 registered riders, with 40% of those riders being new. “
There being no further business, a motion was made by Councilperson Jason Handy and seconded by Councilperson Kelly Greene to adjourn the meeting.
